Halo Infinite currently has 2 major multiplayer issues
Hallo Infinite is a first-person capturing computer game developed by 343 Industries and also modified by Xbox Game Studios. Its leave is scheduled for December 8, 2021, on Windows, Xbox One, in addition to on Xbox Collection. This is the sixth primary game of the Halo collection, following Halo 5: Guardians released in 2015.
343 launched the multiplayer beta version of Halo Infinite there is exactly one week on November 15, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Halo and Xbox. The launch was generally welcomed and will remain as one of the most surprising moments of the game in its history.
The reception of the multiplayer beta version of Halo Infinite has so far been right now positive. The game mechanisms are always addictive, the customization options are extremely attractive, the artistic style is incredibly attractive and the cards — apart from Bazaar — are simply impeccable to some extent.
Everything in this Cree Halo game, and yet it always reaches this perfect balance where it pleases both veteran fans and new players who are trying a halo game for the very first time.
Although the multiplayer is still in a beta phase, we have some first reflections about the overall experience we would like to share and with which we would like to start a conversation.
These are the 2 things about the multiplayer Halo Infinite who concern us the most and I hope they will be addressed at some point in the future, if not at launch.
So far, the Infinite MP halo has introduced only 3 playlists to play with regard to the gameplay of Arena. Quick Play offers a chance to play against real players without worrying about the result. Classified offers a competitive PVP experience that is exciting and has consequences. Bots Matchmaking offers an excellent multiplayer experience against Marine Bots for those who want either to learn the strings of the game or simply spend a relaxed moment to kill bots and progress in the battle pass.
What is most disturbing so far is the lack of game modes available. In all the aforementioned reading lists, there are only 4 modes to play and one of them is really zero. Slayer is the place where the team with the most wins, capture the flag is the place where players must actively try to steal the flag of the enemy and bring it back to their base, Strongly is the place where Both teams are fighting for 3 bases to secure in order to win points, and the formidable oddball where both teams must fight for a balloon and keep it.
Strongholds is the perfect mode in the multiplayer Halo Infinite, it allows players of both teams to turn constantly on the 3 bases. On the other hand, Oddball always ends up being a camping party where the team holding the ball simply withdraws towards a point of the card, gathers and simply leaves this point. When the enemy team finally retrieves the ball, it will have to do anyway doing the same thing, also gathering and clinging to the expensive life at a single point of the map. This leads to a boring and repetitive gameplay, which brings me to the question: what has changed? Oddball has never been an important part of the competitive game, suddenly all 3 matches, I get an oddball game and I push a huge sigh.
Other than that, why are not there still classified or social playlists other than Team Arena? Where are the Slayer reading lists only, or double, or even free for all? Team Arena has always been extremely complex and based on goals, which is great, but also leaves a lot to be desired. 343 has not yet commented on its intention to bring more game modes to launch, so I hope they just want to surprise us.
On the other hand, there is also the Big Team Battle mode that offers its own set of cards, but similar game modes. This is a game mode 12 against 12 which uses a broad base of players, congratulations to 343 to have taken better care of it in Halo Infinite than they did in Halo 5.
Yes, we go there. 343 focused so much on the development of the gameplay and the cards they apparently left the progression system in the hands of their trainees in the office. The progression was so bad that 343 had to listen to the community and changed its operation in the days following the launch, suppressing some depressing weekly challenges, adding constant XP's per game and lowering its 100 XP reward at 50 XP.
The most disconcerting problem with the progression system is that it entirely ignores the scores and medals obtained by the players in any game, leaving everything you do inside a game totally useless to less that it has something to do with weekly challenges. This has led innumerable players simply join the games and wait for the end of the game to win the same 50xp as the most successful players will also receive.
343 has clearly designed this system to encourage players to spend more for XP boosts and the exchange of challenges, which is more than correct since the game is free. Except the fact that players already pay for the fighting pass, and force players to play 20 games to go to the upper level once, is strange and even naughty to some extent.
What is even more astounding, once players have completed the weekly challenges in the multiplayer Halo Infinite, that's all. For the rest of the week, the players who have already completed the weekly challenges literally no choice but to win 50 points of experience per game, no matter how they behave in the game, and no matter what s 'They earn or lose. It's extremely punitive for players who love so much halo they have managed to meet all their weekly challenges.
343 has already promised that it monitored the performance of the progress system and reworked the system entirely at some point in the future. However, it was very surprising to see how this system was approved to start... Even after the initial concerns that were very bright during the game preview of the game.
Personally, I would recommend absolutely Halo Infinite multiplayer on Battlefield 2024 or Call of Duty: Vanguard for this holiday season. It is a new fun game that offers a unique gameplay and a breath of fresh air in the field of FPS games.
The offers of the combat pass are worth it, the gameplay is good enough for the players to come back, and the cards look like Halo and work very well in a competitive setting.
However, the progression system is not only ungrateful, it can also sometimes seem punitive, 343 must find a way to rework it entirely before launch so as not to move the new players away. The lack of mode-specific playlists like Slayer, or Doubles, or FFA, or fun as infection and Super Fiesta is very disappointing and this should remain a problem at launch.
The beta version of Halo Infinite Multiplayer is available for free download now on Xbox Series X / S, PC and Xbox One. The Halo Infinite campaign will be available on December 8, 2021, and will arrive at Game Pass, by then, do not hesitate to consult our overview of the Halo Infinite campaign.
